Carlos Torano Noventa Cigar Reviews

Posted on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 in About Cigar, Cigar Sale

To celebrate 90 years of expertise in the cigar industry, Torano developed another incredible blend known as the Noventa.  This cigar is the crowning achievement of the Torano portfolio. A Nicaraguan puro, the Noventa is rolled with five-year-old tobacco and is an excellent choice for almost any occasion.

The Torano legacy dates back to 1916 when Santiago Torano left Spain for Cuba in search of work. At the time he had no idea his new career as a tobacco dealer would guarantee a workplace for the next four generations of his family. Today, the Torano family is among the top cigar manufacturers in the industry, operating facilities in every major cigar-producing nation. In addition to their own lines, the Toranos are credited for also making cigars for such brands as CAO, Alec Bradley, Gurkha, and many others.

The Noventa is a culmination of the knowledge the Toranos have gained over the last 90 years. Rolled with all aged tobaccos, the Carlos Torano Noventa acquires its complexity from its filler, which utilizes tobaccos from every major region in Nicaragua including Jalapa, Esteli and Condega. Each tobacco leaf is personally selected by the Torano family and chosen for its superior quality.  This cigar is an incredible find, with over 90 years of excellence incorporated into each and every stick!

Cusano M1 Cigars

Posted on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in About Cigar, Cigar Lighter

Looking for a great value?  The M1 by Cusano is blended to match the taste and quality of the famous Macanudo brand, featuring a Connecticut wrapper and Dominican fillers.  This mild cigar is available at a bargain price in singles or bundles of 20.

Before becoming known for some of the best premiums in the world, Cusano cigars started their value driven business in bundles with their Celebrity series which encompasses several lines of bundled cigars that were made with one goal in mind, to compete directly with name brand cigars twice their price. Rolled at the famous Tabadom Factory in the Dominican Republic, the bundled Cusano Celebrity series has used exacting standards to match the blends of some of the most famous cigars in the world including Punch, Partagas, Macanudo, and Montecristo to name a few. This cigar uses an Connecticut shade wrapper, Dominican binder and Dominican filler.

The M1 by Cusano directly challenges the blend of the famous Macanudo, acclaimed to the best selling cigar in the United States. Since its debut it has become an everyday cigar for aficionados everywhere that want to combine great prices with great cigars. In addition to Macanudo, this cigar is a great alternative to other Dominican favorites such as La Aurora, Fuente, and Ashton. The cigars come packaged in bundles of 20 and are available in 5 sizes. Once again Mike Chiusano has begged the question, why pay more for a quality cigar.

Cusano is in no way affiliated with Macanudo which is a registered trademark of General Cigar Corporation.

very good for the money, worth twice as much – brian
Good smooth, mild flavor, not much of an aftertaste. Nice white ash. Smooth wrapper, but burned inconsistently after about the first third. Overall, I give it a solid 85, will probably buy more of these. – Anthony Webb

I must just say, that I was very impressed with this medium cigar. I thought the flavor was a nice non-overpowering one, and the draw was perfect. It was very smooth and offers a tremendous value to cigar smokers. The burn was a tad uneven, but overall I would give it a B+. – Matthew Elrod

Persnally I think that this is one ofthe finast smokes around for the price. The harmony between smoker and cigar is unequaled. Draw was nice and smooth. The burn was even. Even works when you don;t want to smoke the entire cigar. Let it burn itself out, and then when you want to come back to it, knock off the ask, and relight. Excellent smoke~ – Bobby

This is truly a fine cigar for the price. It’s the cigar you can sit on your patio with, enjoy with a nice single malt scotch and let you troubles just drift away. – Steve Hawkins

The M1 was probably the least expensive cigar I have smoked so far. However, it was one of the best too. It really did replicate a Macanudo, but lacked the creamy taste that Macanudos have. Smooth and mild to medium bodied, this cigar is pretty good. – Jon Lung

I enjoyed this cigar from the very beginning. The flavor and aroma were very satisfying and a wonderful start to my day. The only thing that would keep me from giving the M1 a perfect 5/5 is that near the end I encountered some air pockets. Admittedly it may just have been that one in particular. I’ll try a few more before committing to a box. – Michael

While serving in Iraq my buddies and I were looking for something affordable and reasonably priced. We came across the M1 and it was a hit. Even those who weren’t regulars were asking me for them. Its nice and smooth from start to finish and tastes great. – JLo

I pesonaly love Cusano’s Vanilla flavored cigars and was wanting to find a cigar that was all natural and did not have any added flavors. Sweet tabaco, miled and a pleasing smoke and smell. After smoking one Cusano M1 I am hooked! For me it has enough sweetness in the tabaco and not strong enough to get me kicked out of a publice place or have some none-smokers tell me it stinks all the time. I did get one or two that burned uneven at the start, but for me it is a very good smoke and I would buy a Cusano M1 over a higher priced cigar that delivers the same smoke and better burn. – Nick A.

I decided to buy a bundle of these because of the price. I am one that thinks that most cigars are overpriced and are really worth much less than their asking price. However, the M1, at less than $2 per stick, is a really great deal. The flavor and draw is wonderful. I think it is priced right and it has definitely become my favorite. – LP

I find that all of the positive reviews about this gar are on the money! Great gar, good draw, easy smoking. Glad that I took the time to grad this great gar, and smoke them with good friends. Worth every penny I spent for them. – Roy
My humidor is stocked with a variety of different cigars all much more expensive than the Cusano. M1 by Cusano is by far as good as any of them and the Robusto is just right for an evening smoke. I see why it is number two. – Gary

My favorite everyday smoke…in fact Cusano (Chiusano)has never steered me wrong. Try all of the celeb. series! – Doc

A great cigar. This was the first bundle that I had purchased and I must say that I was very pleased. I love to smoke these and watch a James Bond movie! – David R.

Good cigars for the price… I bought a sampler, it was well worth the cost. Even burn, mild. Will buy more. – Andrew
I bought 6 sticks of various cigars for all under $3 supposedly all being the “best value”. This was the best one in my opinion. If you are on a budget but still want great mild taste, this is the one for you. – Jon Paul

Torpedo

This is very good tasting mild cigar worth twice as much and then some. It burns very nicely and has a fine draw. It is an excellent value and has caused me to rethink my buying and testing stratagies. – p mcdonald

Just because it isn”t expensive doesn”t mean it is a bad cigar. Mild but very flavorful, and you can”t beat the price. A great every day smoke. – Thomas A.

Had one for thie first time. What an exceptional cigar. Great flavor, good draw and held the ash for about ian inch. Mild but wonderful flavor. This one could be an all occasion cigar. This is by far the best Macanudo out their. Compars to some of the Cubans I have smoked. – George

IF YOU ARE GOING TO SMOKE A MACANUDO, THIS IS THE ONE TO SMOKE…THESE ARE FAR BETTER THAN THE REGULAR MACS..NICE SMOOTH CIGAR, EXCELLENT DRAW..I SMOKED THIS ON MY BACK PORCH WHILE IT WAS RAINING WITH A GLASS OF WINE..IF YOUR A BEGINNER OF LONG TIME CIGAR SMOKER, HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS ONE. SENT ONE TO MY BROTHER AND HE BOUGHT A BOX OF THEM RIGHT AFTER HE SMOKED IT. – GEORGE H

An excellent smoke. I was very pleased. Thanks for including it in the Cigar of the Month Club. – Mike T., Alameda, CA

Smooth, excellent cigar I had at least a 2 inch ash maybe long (with pictures to prove it). Highly recommend to anyone. Great flavor and lots of smoke for the dollar. – Stephanie

Burns even with a great draw. Fresh and subtly sweet. Mild but robust. An excellent stick! – Jeffrey

An excellent smooth taste that really brings out the best in a dry red wine. It doesn’t get much better than this. – Tim J.

Despite the raves for this cigar, i wasn’t impressed at all. The draw was awful and the taste was decent at best for a connecticut. for the price, it was a waste. for a milder cigar, i would recommend a Cusano 18. a C- in my book. – Josh Overley

Rated 85. This pale cigar has a grainy flavor and a hint of oats. It is weet and toasty. – Cigar Aficionado, December 2007

a very smooth smoke throughout. I was pleasently suprised by the mellow and smooth flavor which exceeded my expectations. the burn was even and the smoke was light. Overall a strong 8.7 out of ten in my opinion. – choochoo

Magnificent one you do not want to miss out on – Garrett

The Lord Nelson Gold Label is an excellent cigar with a smooth and sweet flavor. Its construction reflects the great craftsmanship of all the Mac lines. Pure pleasure with every draw. – Kathleen

Tried one and had to have another. They will always found in my humidor. – CharlieB

A finely built cigar. Definitely light bodied. Decent draw. Tough wrapper. It has a very woody flavor. A very simple smoke that does not changes flavors, nor does it get any better from the time you light it up to the time you’re done smoking. Bit pricey for what you get. I would recommend a Cuisano18 over this. – Sidney

Rated 84. This yellow cigar has a firm draw and uneven burn. It is mild, with notes of dry wood and alfalfa on the palate. – CIgar Aficionado, April 2006

One of the best cigar I have ever smoked to date. Tastes great any time of the day. If you want a nice smooth smoke look no further. – Drew

The Macanudo Gold label is a wondefull spin-off of the untouchable Macanudo line. This cigar is no exception. It fills your pallet with notes of vanilla cream and sutlle spice.I will always stock by humidor with many of these great cigars.A 8.6 on a scale of 1-10 – Mark

Smoked one of these on the way out of the BRISTOL NASCAR race it was awesome….rolled tight and burned great… – Tom H.

Tried my first Tudor tonight. I can honestly say that it is perfect for a “quick” smoke. It is a Macanudo, enough said…. – CharlieB
